WHO WE ARE

We are a hotel situated in a paradisiacal area, just 2.5 kilometres from the centre of the Calafate City. The hotel is built following the same typical Patagonic architecture. EL CALAFATE

At the beginning of the XX Century, this place in which nowadays is the city called El Calafate built, had farms that were many kilometres distant from each other.  People had to go to Rio Gallegos Port to embark their goods to Europe.
As the journeys were long, and in those times it took ages to travel, the need to establish places along the way for those people to feed and rest aroused.
This way, these places were established around three kilometres from each other, medium distance for a journey carried out by oxcarts.  These places were surrounded by streams or lagoons, and due to climate conditions, bushes overgrown all over.
Nearby one of these “paradores”, there was a big bush named by one of the travellers  El Calafate.
